Common Excuses

An excuse is basically an explanation that describes something that didn't happen or happened incorrectly. People often use excuses to make themselves feel more or less justified for failing. Excuses are often overly exaggerated. A few common excuses might be:

"I was really tired, I didn't get enough sleep last night."

"I've literally not had a moment to breathe."

Or the most famous, "My dog eat my homework."
