Handmade ceramic mugs have a special something about them. Instead of being mass produced and popped out of a factory mold, each and every one is more or less unique. Each mug has a slightly different diameter and height and each one feels a little different in your hands. You can usually see line marks where the potter's fingers pulled the piece's walls, the angle they cut the mug's foot at, and their initials on the bottom. The glaze always comes out a little different on each mug. Handmade mugs make great gifts.
