Band Saw
A Band Saw is a motor-driven saw with a continuous circular blade. The blade travels around two wheels, one on top and one on the bottom, and the straight portion in between the wheels is the portion used for cutting. It is a very versatile saw as it can make curved cuts, or straight cuts with the use of a guide fence. Pictured is a 12 inch band saw, which means you can pass up to 12"-worth of material in between the blade and the left-hand side of the saw. The blade on this particular saw is 80 inches.
Band saws cut all types of materials, from wood and metal to plastic, and it is even the tool of choice for butchers cutting through flesh and bone, so for goodness sakes be careful!
