Browser Wars
The term "Browser Wars" refers to the competition between web browser software developers for the majority of users. Each web browser offers a slightly different user experience and a slightly different feature set. However, when compared, the differences are marginal. Interestingly, people gravitate to liking one browser over all the others and become die hard advocates for their favorite web browser. This could be the result of the desire for individualization. While this is all fun and games to the end user, and a competitive goal for browser developers, it has been known to cause absolute insanity for web developers and designers who must test and compare anything they design or program on over four platforms! To make things even more difficult websites must now also be tested for compatibility on a variety of mobile web browsers such as iOS and Android.
