Coyote

Canis latrans, the defiant song-dog of the American continent. Habitat includes back country, ranches, and farmlands, but they can live almost anywhere. Mostly nocturnal but also often seen by day. They have a wild, doglike howl ending in a series of yaps. They range from Alaska to Mexico and east from the Pacific Coast to the Great Lakes. Weight to 50 pounds.
