Educated Thumb (Guitar)

For guitarists an "Educated Thumb" is the technique where the thumb is used to hold down the low E string. The palm is wrapped around the guitar neck and the thumb is used in conjunction with other fingers to form a chord or play a melody. Pictured is a dominate 7th chord.
