Falsetto

Falsetto is an application of the singing voice that varies from the normal voice in how the vocal folds function. In the "modal" or normal voice, the entire vocal fold is seen to be in motion. In Falsetto, only the edges of the vocal folds are seen to move. The falsetto voice is usually at least one octave higher than the modal voice and has fewer overtones.
