Ice Plant

In the Stone Plant family, Carpobrotus edulis, is a carpet-like succulent that forms thick blankets wherever conditions are right for its propagation. Often considered to be an invasive species when it escapes garden plots, it can be seen in many areas along the shoreline completely engulfing headland environments. The only reasonable course of action for controlling this non-native California species is physically digging the plant out and removing it from the area of infestation.
