Japanese Maple
Japanese maple trees come in a wide variety. They are typically smaller than standard maples growing up to twenty or thirty feet tall. Their leaves change color throughout the year from green to orange or red. Japanese maples are, or course, native to Japan, in addition to Korea, Mongolia, and Russia. The scientific name is Acer palmatum. They are some of the most beautiful trees on the planet and an awesome addition to anyone's front yard.
