Pond
A pond is a body of water. It is smaller than a lake and bigger than a puddle. Ponds can be naturally occurring or man made, and most are filled with plant and animal life. Ponds are home for insects, invertebrates, fish, and amphibians. The peaceful nature of ponds has been a refuge and inspiration to humans throughout time. In 1899, artist Claude-Oscar Monet painted the lovely "The Water-Lily Pond" which captured on canvas his water garden with Japanese-style arched bridge.
