Pull-a-hose-a-phobia is the fear that you will forget you are pumping fuel at a gas station and drive away with the hose still in the tank. When asking an expert on the subject they said, "I have seen it and it's not a pretty sight." Luckily gas station designers incorporated a fail safe "break away" device where the hose disconnects from the pump unit in this situation. Reports of people driving with the hose still stuck in their gas tanks are not unheard of.
