Red-legged Frog
Rana aurora is the aquatic jumper who frequents bodies of water and surrounding habitat from Vancouver Island to Baja California. It grows to be 2-5 inches long, has a brownish to olive back and mottled red groin and leg area. Interestingly, males toes are more webbed than females. This frog is rapidly becoming rare in many areas due to habitat loss. It is now considered listed on the endangered species list of California.
