This sweet little box of sounds is great for anyone looking for a broad range of synthesizer instruments (1,023 voices right out of the box) with 64 levels of polyphony. All this in a compact half space rack unit. Instrument categories include piano, key/organ, guitar/bass, orchestra/brass, synth/pad, ethnic, and rhythm/sound effects. The JV-1010 can handle up to 16 simultaneous MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) channels or send MIDI signals onto other units via its MIDI in, out, and through connections. But it is limited by only one stereo output (2 1/4" mono jacks). It comes bundled with the "Sessions" wave expansion board and has an open slot for a second expansion board. Many users rave about the Drum and Bass expansion board. This unit is excellent and has great sounds. Its one drawback is the output volume level without extra amplification can be too quite for some applications. Manufactured by Roland in Japan.
