The Thing (John Carpenter's)

Made in 1982, this film was underlooked due to a film called 'ET' releasing at the same time and giving the viewers a much more friendly and realistic movie experience. It follows the chronicles of an American antarctic scientific outpost that encounters unusual activity from a similar outpost of Norwegian decent.
