1960s Poster Art

Popularized during the Fillmore West and Avalon Ballroom concert era (1966—1974) in San Francisco, this art presents psychedelic imagery to promote and advertise upcoming rock concerts. The art included innovative layout and design that the older generation often found difficult to decipher. Most of the art promoted productions by Bill Graham Presents, the driving force behind the entire San Francisco 1960s rock concert phenomenon.
