Mermaid

A mermaid is a mythological half-woman/half-fish being. Inevitably the upper half of the body is a woman and the lower the tail of a fish. Mythological tales depicting mermaids are found throughout the world from China all the way to the Caribbean. Sightings by sailors and fishers are likewise widespread and continue into the modern era. The most recent mermaid sighing was in 2009.
