Krishna, literally "dark, black or blue," is a Hindu God-figure. Usually considered to be an incarnation of the God Vishnu, Krishna is thought to have been an actual historical person belonging to the Vrishni clan of Yadavas from Mathura, and the eighth son born to the princess Devaki, and her husband Vasudeva. He is frequently depicted as playing a flute and accompanied by his consort Radha.
